Terms of service
Last updated 5 August 2026
The short version: your drawings and your takeoffs are yours. Pay monthly, cancel whenever you like. Check your own measurements before you price a job — this is a tool, not a guarantee.
Who you're dealing with
Solid Takeoff is operated by Sites For Business Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, whose registered office is 44 High Street, Southampton, SO30 3DR, United Kingdom. “We” and “us” means that company. “You” means the person or business using the service.
Questions about these terms: hello@solidtakeoff.com.
Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using Solid Takeoff you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you're agreeing on behalf of a business, you confirm you're allowed to bind it.
If you don't agree, don't use the service — and if you've already started, you can close your account at any time.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself and let us know promptly if you think someone else has got into your account. You're responsible for what happens under your login, and for anyone you invite into your workspace.
You need to be 18 or over. One person, one login — don't share a single account between people to avoid paying for seats.
Plans, trials and what you pay
Free costs nothing and stays free: 2 active projects, 250 MB of storage, one user, and exports carry a small Solid Takeoff footer.
Solo is $12.99 per month for one user, with 10 GB of storage. Team is $49.99 per month covering 3 users, then $16.99 per additional user, with 50 GB of pooled storage. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that applies where you are. If your card is in another currency, your bank sets the conversion rate and may add its own fee.
The 14-day trial needs no card. When it ends, nothing is charged and the workspace moves to Free — your work stays where it is. One trial per person.
Paid plans renew monthly until you cancel, and are charged through Stripe. We don't see or store your card details. If a payment fails we'll tell you and try again; if it keeps failing the workspace moves to Free rather than being deleted.
If you add users to a Team plan mid-month, the extra is charged pro rata from that point.
Cancelling and refunds
Cancel any time from Subscription in your workspace. You keep the paid features until the end of the month you've already paid for, then the workspace moves to Free. We don't delete your projects when you cancel.
We don't automatically refund part-months, because you keep the service for the period you paid for. That said — if something has genuinely gone wrong, or you were charged for something you didn't mean to buy, email us. We'd rather sort it out than have you dispute it with your bank.
If you're a consumer rather than a business, you normally have 14 days to change your mind about a digital service. Because the service is available to you immediately on payment, by subscribing you ask us to start straight away and accept that you lose that cancellation right once you've started using the paid features. Your statutory rights where something is faulty or not as described are unaffected.
Your drawings and your takeoffs
Everything you upload or create stays yours. You keep all rights in your drawings, measurements, conditions and markups.
You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your files, show them back to you and to people you invite, process them so the app works, and back them up. We don't sell your content, and we don't use your drawings to train anything.
You confirm you're allowed to upload what you upload. Plans often belong to a client or an architect — make sure you have the right to put them into a tool like this.
You can export your takeoff as a PDF or CSV at any time, on any plan, including Free.
Share links
A share link is a view-only page for one drawing, reachable by anyone who has the link — there's no sign-in. That's deliberate, so you can send one to a client without making them create an account. It also means the link is the security: only send it to people you're happy to see that drawing, and switch it off when it's no longer needed.
Using it properly
Don't use Solid Takeoff to:
- upload anything unlawful, or anything you don't have the right to upload
- break into, overload or probe the service or anyone else's workspace
- resell or rebrand the service as your own
- scrape it, or run it through automated tools that degrade it for other people
If an account is doing any of that, or is putting the service or other customers at risk, we may suspend it. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.
What we don't promise
Check your own numbers. Solid Takeoff helps you measure a drawing quickly, but the scale you set, the lines you trace and the quantities you take from it are yours to verify. Drawings are sometimes wrong, out of date, or not to the scale they claim. Don't price a job on an unchecked takeoff.
We aim to keep the service up and working, but we don't promise it will be available without interruption or free of faults. We may change or remove features as the product develops; if we withdraw something significant on a paid plan, we'll tell you.
We keep backups and version history, but you should keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose.
Where our responsibility ends
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
Beyond that, we're not liable for lost profit, lost contracts, lost business, underpriced or overpriced tenders, or for any loss that wasn't a reasonably foreseeable result of us getting something wrong. Our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period — and if you're on the Free plan, to $100.00.
If you're using Solid Takeoff for business, you also agree we're not liable for anything under a contract you have with someone else, such as a claim from a client about a quantity in a tender.
Ending it
You can close your account whenever you want. We can end this agreement if you break these terms and don't fix it after we've asked, or if we stop offering the service — in which case we'll give you reasonable notice and time to export your work.
After an account is closed we delete its content within 90 days, except where we have to keep records for tax or legal reasons.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. If a change materially affects you on a paid plan, we'll email you before it takes effect. Carrying on using the service after that means you accept the new terms.
The legal bits
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If any part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
This is the whole agreement between us about the service, and it replaces anything said beforehand.
