How to switch to Team and add your colleagues
Quick answer
On the Subscription page, press "Switch to Team" and confirm — your plan changes straight away and you're charged only the difference for the rest of the month. Then go to People, invite each colleague by email, and they open the invite while signed in (or create an account from it). Everyone works in the same workspace; nothing you've made is lost.
Solo is for one person. Team is $49.99/month for up to 3 people (then $16.99/month for each extra person) and adds shared projects and live collaboration — several people measuring the same drawing at once.
Switching keeps everything: your projects, drawings and measurements stay exactly where they are. Only an owner or admin of the workspace can change the plan or invite people.
Step by step

Open Subscription
In Solid Takeoff, open the workspace you want to upgrade and choose Subscription from the menu at the top.

Press "Switch to Team" and confirm
On the Team card, press Switch to Team. A box tells you what happens before anything changes: the new monthly price, and that you'll be charged the difference for the rest of this billing period today, on the card you already use. Confirm, and the page shows Team as your current plan. You won't pay twice — your Solo subscription is replaced, not added to.

Go to People
Choose People from the menu (or use the "Invite your team" link that appears after switching). This lists everyone in the workspace and any invitations waiting to be accepted.

Invite each colleague
Under "Invite a teammate", type their email address, choose Member (can measure and edit) or Admin (can also manage billing and people), and press Send invite. They get an email with a link.

Your colleague opens the invite
If they already have a Solid Takeoff account, they open the link while signed in with that same email address and join your workspace straight away — they keep their own workspace too and can switch between the two from the menu at the top. If they're new, the link lets them create an account and join in one go.

Work together
Everyone in the workspace sees the same projects and drawings, and can measure the same drawing at the same time — changes appear live for everyone.
Tips & gotchas
- •The invitation must be opened with the same email address it was sent to — that's what stops anyone else using the link.
- •Company mailboxes on Microsoft 365 sometimes hold our emails in Junk or quarantine. If an invite doesn't arrive, use "Copy link" next to the pending invite on the People page and send it to your colleague yourself.
- •Your bill follows your team: up to 3 people are included, and each extra person adds $16.99/month, charged from the day they join. Remove someone and the next bill drops.
- •A colleague who signed up separately may have an empty workspace of their own — that's fine; they can simply ignore it and work in yours.

Will I lose anything when I switch?
No. Projects, drawings, measurements and exports all stay exactly as they are — only the plan changes.
Do I pay for Solo and Team at the same time?
No. Your Solo subscription is replaced by Team. For the rest of the current month you're charged only the difference; after that you pay the Team price.
My colleague already has a Solid Takeoff account. Do they need a new one?
No. Invite the email address they already use. They open the invite while signed in and join your workspace with their existing account.
Can my colleague bring the projects from their own workspace?
Not by themselves yet. If they have work in their own workspace that should live in yours, reply to any of our emails and we'll help move it.
Can I go back to Solo?
Yes, once you're the only person in the workspace: remove the others on the People page, then press Switch to Solo on the Subscription page. The unused part of Team becomes a credit on your next bill.
Who can switch plans or invite people?
The workspace owner and anyone with the Admin role. Members can work on projects but can't change billing or invite people.
